Manipulating tests
The manipulating tests are aimed at checking specific properties of some type of steel products. The purpose of tem is to verify that a product can be subjected to further processing operations, such as pressing, bending, expansion, etc. Also the tests can detect internal defects of the products.
We provide the most commonly used manipulating tests of metallurgical products:
- Bend test - according to EN ISO and ASTM standards - of sheets, rods, strips
- A series of manipulating tests of tubes - according to EN ISO and ASTM standards - flattening test, flaring test, ring expanding test, flanging test, ring tensile test, etc.
- Bend test and fracture test of welds.
- Peel and chizel tests of spot welds.
List of test procedures, for which the laboratory is accredited, see Appendix to certificate of accreditation.
The result of the manipulating test is usually the statement satisfactory - nonsatisfactory. Therefore, the determination of the conditions to which the metallurgical product is subjected during the test must be specify.
The shape and dimensions of the test specimens are given by the test code and also may depend on the dimensions of the tested product. To specify the tests and dimensions of the test samples, we recommend contacting our specialists.
